That’s a good one - I should revisit it and bring out a formula for it.

Hi Brian,

I’m an MA Fashion Journalism and Content Creation student currently creating my final project, Sillage, an independent editorial magazine exploring fragrance through identity, culture, memory and representation.

I recently came across your post, “Perfumes I Would Bring Back,” and was really interested in the idea of revisiting fragrances that have disappeared. It made me think about what discontinued perfumes can reveal about changing tastes, cultural moments and the memories people attach to scent.

I wondered whether you would be open to contributing a short original piece to Sillage, perhaps exploring why certain perfumes deserve to return, what the fragrance industry loses when a scent is discontinued, or another related angle that interests you.

Alternatively, I would be happy to discuss featuring an edited excerpt from your existing piece, with your full permission, credit and a link back to your Substack.

My deadline for contributions is 10 August, and I would be happy to send over more information about the magazine, proposed word count and creative direction if you are interested.

Thank you so much for considering it.

Best wishes,

Shonia Sanneh MA Fashion Journalism and Content Creation London College of Fashion
